Garanoir

Garanoir is the sibling variety to Gamaret, created from the same Gamay × Reichensteiner cross at the Changins research station. While Gamaret provides structure and color, Garanoir contributes fruitiness and softness. It is almost always found in blends alongside Gamaret, particularly in Vaud and Geneva, where the two together have become the signature of modern Swiss red winemaking.
